Glass Design’s Industrial Refractories Division offers the following products and services:

Refractory Procurement - Close relationships with the major manufacturer’s of refractory products enable GDI to provide technical assistance in selection, purchasing, and installation for all categories of refractory materials.

Castable Installation – Our installation capabilities include 3 gunite rigs and associated equipment and is managed by experienced personnel utilizing proper procedures conforming to industry standards and/or individual specifications. Anchoring systems are installed per special job requirements.

Ceramic Fiber Products – Modules and Ceramic Fiber Blanket systems can be handled from start to finish by craftsmen who handle everything from anchoring system layouts, anchor welding by stud gun, thru the placement of materials and pinning in place. Some more complex units contain stainless steel external shrouds and/or foil backings.

Brick – Typical installations are baffle walls and linings in vessels which require high quality refractories.

External Coatings – Coatings in a range from simple primers to custom high temperature resistant systems are installed to meet the most demanding standards.

Internal Coatings – Mastic and epoxy internal coatings are often applied prior to the installation of refractory linings to protect vessel shells from corrosion.

Fired Heaters – A specialty of GDI’s Industrial Refractories division is the conduct of turnkey refractory and coating projects for all types of heaters, duct work, and stacks in accordance with API 936 refractory practices and SSPC coating practices.

Field Services – GDI crews are available for travel to job sites at industrial plants or fabrication shops for the conduct of refractory installations and coating applications.
